BP: Is used over 542 times in TRIS. However, definitely needs to be defined.
AE Built Environment--Defined broadly to include land use patterns, the transportation system, and design features that together provide opportunities for travel and physical activity. Land use patterns refer to the spatial distribution of human activities. The transportation system refers to the physical infrastructure and services that provide the spatial links or connectivity among activities. Design refers to the aesthetic, physical, and functional qualities of the built environment, such as the design of buildings and streetscapes, and relates to both land use patterns and the transportation system. Committee Consensus:
TEMP PARK -- appears to be more about design; parked to determine notation; singular form of term is what is used, not plural. Notation may depend on how term will be used (should be plural if you can count the term).

PARK -- notation should be in "Construction materials;" AE SME consultation from May/June 2010 may also have a definition included.
NTL Comments: Policy decision needed; lack of literary warrant
MK Comments: TRT team should err on the side a acceptance for statistical/mathematical headings so that they are regularized for use by indexers. Much criticism of the TRT initially for lack of math/stat terms. Rectified, in part, by contact with researchers from UC and BTS ten years ago.

TEMP Park (Q3 2010) until after TRT Subcommittee midyear meeting to consider policy.

BP: Used only 20 times in TRIS
AE: DECLINE Lack of literary warrant is enough for either PARK or DECLINE decision. The term can be revisited. I think the policy has already been set on this but may need to be clarified. We have not answered the What is enough warrant question. Because the TRT is still partly a research thesaurus, we should consider Michael's comments. But if we add a term before it has enough warrant we open ourselves up to justifying other terms with lack of warrant.

TEMP Park until after TRT Subcommittee midyear meeting to consider policy.

PARK (until Q2 2011)-- decision because of number of items from the 2010 TRB annual meeting, relationship to HSR, and transit. Also consider in the context of operations (contact AE when start research).

AE: Do we need to go this granular with inspections. Are there are other types of inspections we need to consider as well? Can we consider this a lead-in term to inspection?
BP Inspection is a narrow term for testing. Would include all types of inspections
