February 2010 (Q1) TRT Non-Preferred Terms to Discuss

TRT Term Action Type Comments Conference Call Consensus MK's comments Subcommittee Comments Conference Call Consensus
Airport law Add non-preferred USE: Air law; some conversation about airport law meaning the facility specifically. Will wait to see if this emerges as a separate branch in light of security issues   AE: Disagree. If the concept of law regarding the facility, may come around. Would rather PARK or DECLINE until warrant. However, this would be a candidate for generic posting. DO NOT ADD Airport law;
Aviation law Add non-preferred USE: Air law    AE: Think Aviation Law and Air Law should be swapped. no change in concept but form of word. **switch Aviation law for Air law
Lane departures add non-preferred USE: Lane changing; from MK: Related TRT terms: Automatic steering control; Lateral placement; Ran off road accidents. Prefer to use Lateral placement rather than Lane departures.    AE: Agree - NPT. Lateral placement? really? PARK
Nontowered airports add non-preferred USE Airstrips   AE:Disagree in general aviation and FAA "Non-towered airport" is a valid term. Term not equivalent to 'airstrips'. Generic Posting does not apply here either.  Would prefer to PARK or DECLINE Non-towered Airport until there is a enough warrant for a PT. DO NOT ADD
Older drivers add non-preferred USE Aged drivers   AE: Agree - NPT OK
Polymer modified asphalt add non-preferred USE Polymer asphalt and make Polymer modified asphalt a NPT---suggested on the Q4 2009 conference call term review; Polymer asphalt and Asphalt additives are in TRT    AE: Agree - NPT OK
