ST:  Just adding quesions. Northwestern has used the term Astronautics (military).  The venerable AIAA was formed in 1963 with the merger of the American Rocket Society and the Institute of Aeonautical Sciences.  The term is understood among space professionals but is not used in TRIS.

SP: Term is needed in TRIS.

Parachutes Park Nov 08 Recent Uncontrolled Term List No distinction between safety or recreational found in the literature. Predominant citations were for safety for pilots, flying and navigating boats. No user warrant or literary warrant. Commercial airlines do not provide parachutes to passengers.  This could fit in into several categories, air drops, airplanes, cars and boats. Park it to explore disambiguation, e.g., Parachute (de-acceleration), Parachute (aviation) "There should be no issue whether it's recreational or safety to be placed in the Q facet". "Leave as TRIS UT."

AE: Agree. Note the NTL example is semantically equivalent aviation parachutes are used for de-acceleration.

ST:  No opinion

SP: Agree
